'Keep calm', 'Incredible' – These Leeds United fans react to latest twist in promotion race
All Preston, aren’t we? That was the cry from all Leeds United fans ahead of the 5pm kick-off today.
Several Leeds fans also sent messages to former centre-back Pontus Jansson, who’s now an integral part of the Brentford side.
Leeds fans hold a soft spot for Jansson but wanted to see him put a big dent in his own side’s top-two chances today.
Sooo… Brentford need to win today to have any chance of catching #LUFC. Time for Agent Pontus to step up. Just one own goal will do.

It's amazing how many teams you support towards the end of the season.
All Preston aren't we?
Also if Jansson wants to score an own goal I'm okay with this. #LUFC

Brentford were on an “incredible run” (as one Leeds fan called it) of seven consecutive wins – a number that equals the best run this season under Bielsa – and looking to make it eight.
Anything less and Leeds could clinch promotion tomorrow at Elland Road against Barnsley.
It didn’t start well at all, with Brentford taking the lead after just three minutes from – who else – Ollie Watkins.
And one fan said it was just typical of Leeds’ luck, saying no third-placed team had ever come this good before and that it was an “absolute shock” it happened when Leeds were top.
Preston weren’t done though and Leeds fans knew they only needed one goal.
However, they couldn’t find it – with one fan charitably calling them “abysmal” – and it means that Leeds’ wait for the Premier League will go on.
The good news is that if we win or draw on Thursday, it means we can clinch promotion one of two ways at Derby on Sunday – either by winning or by Brentford falling. We’ll take that. And, we’ve got to admit that Brentford are incredible at the moment.
Bottom line is three games, four points.
Meanwhile, here are the best of the reactions from Leeds fans, with plenty reminding the worried few that Leeds’ fate is in their own hands…
Keep calm. Preston were never getting anything here. #lufc

Despite everything, hats off to Brentford. Incredible run they’re on. Hopefully they fall short but they’ve made this run in a real arse gripper for aure. #lufc

PNE are abysmal #lufc

Good job we're getting maximum points isn't it 😬 #lufc

Show me a season where the team in 3rd has ever come on this good at the end. Absolute shock that its when we are one of the top 2 #lufc

Fair play to Brentford. Got a potent strike force and have made some shrewd signings. Have used a modest budget and money generated wisely. Also have a decent centre back! #lufc

The thing is people think I’m worrying about Brentford. I’m not. I’m worrying about us sudddenly turning into Leeds. #lufc

Who gives a toss about Brentford seriously? So many people banging on about them every time they play. We need 4 points from 3 games & that can be as early as Sunday so chill out. It's in our hands & our hands only #LUFC

2 things you can guarantee in life death and Brentford winning #LUFC

I see nobody doing Leeds any favours as usual. #lufc

By my reckoning, out the 40 'three match sequences' that #lufc have played this season, in only 6 of them have Leeds failed to collect less than 4 points. @lufcstats or @lufcdata had better check that out – coz I might be mistaken
