Most of the Leeds United squad who won promotion last season have adjusted well to life in the Premier League – but Helder Costa has struggled a little.
Last week we beat Leicester City 3-1 with only one player starting who was not with us last season, Raphinha.
He is the man who has taken Costa’s place in the first-team this season, and that is not surprising given he has four goals and four assists already.
However, the Brazilian only got his chance due to a run of lacklustre performances from Costa.
He has failed to live up to his £16million price tag and did not make the most of his recent opportunity against Crawley – scoring a rating of just 6.3, per SofaScore.
Due to his form many supporters have criticised the winger, suggesting Costa is one player Marcelo Bielsa has not got the best out of.
Some have called for Costa to be sold in the summer, and since he has offered little this season we support that view.
We could replace him with Dan James or Adama Traore, too, and both would be an upgrade on the Portugal international given their Premier League experience.
It has been a disappointing spell for the 27-year-old, who did not really live up to expectations last season, either, when he averaged a rating of 6.7 (WhoScored).
Here is some of the discussion taking place about the former Wolves man.
#Costa is hopeless, I am dismayed if he comes on as a sub as he is truly clueless. As for #Raphinha there's no comparison, Raphinha is leagues ahead of Costa [who should spend more time on his footy skills than on his ridiculous hair style!] on every level.

Sell him he is championship at best.
Same as Roberts.

Too fragile while on the ball gets knocked off far to easily. Just doesn't have the confidence to run at / take on his man or beat his man everytime which just isn't good enough in the PL

Did not convince me last season never mind this season in the Premier League – no where near worth £16m – biggest frustration is his lacklustre work rate

Hes not been consistent enough at all for me. Showed glimpses but sadly dont feel he has enough to be able to take us to the next level.
If we can get between 7 – 10mil for him, I would sell in the summer & reinvest. IMO

one of my favourite players, but his attitude at times seems horrific, when he comes on and gets the chance he just seems disinterested

He’s the weakest player in the squad by a mile. Wolves must have had great fun selling us him and Douglas

Not hungry enough, doesn’t seem like he wants it

I don't like slating players, Graham but his work rate, his flare, his strength just isn't there for me. The gap between him and Raphinha is a big one.

He’s so poor. He gets out muscled Everytime. He doesn’t change the game for the good
