'Rent-free', 'Desperate' – Many Leeds fans dismantle Championship rivals after 'obsessive' tweet

Spare a thought for Nottingham Forest in these hard times.

They were on a roll when they beat Leeds United 2-0 at the City Ground back in February but it seems they can’t stop obsessing about it.

They posted a tweet on Friday celebrating the win and Leeds fans have piled on to ridicule them for it.

For Leeds, it was another bad result in a run of just two wins in 10 games that saw the chasing pack catch us as we clung onto second place in the Championship.

Since that game, the fortunes of the two clubs have been somewhat different. Leeds travelled to Brentford and dominated in a 1-1 draw that saw us rediscover our mojo.

We’ve won five-in-a-row since without conceding to go top of the league.

Forest have only won once in those six games and lost to nil to both Charlton and Millwall.

They’re now fifth in the league and manager Sabri Lamouchi has given up on automatic promotion, hoping they can stay in the play-offs.

They’re just an 11% shot to get promoted, while Leeds have been given a 98% chance of promotion by prediction site FiveThirtyEight if the season resumes.

No wonder some Leeds fans reacted to the tweet with a few saying we’re living “rent-free” in their heads…
