Leeds United were down to bare bones against Wolves on Friday and some fans have questioned why Joe Gelhardt was not given an opportunity.
The 18-year-old has had to wait patiently for his debut at Leeds after signing last summer.
He has impressed for the under 23s with seven goals in 12 games and supporters are keen to see him in action soon.
On Friday Marcelo Bielsa instead handed a rare start to another young player, Tyler Roberts, who recorded a SofaScore rating of 6.8. He then brought on Pablo Hernandez, with Gelhardt left on the bench.
Gelhardt has been named on the bench for three consecutive matches so may be able to get some minutes if players are showing fatigue.
Bielsa views Gelhardt as a finisher so it is little surprise he has been unable to displace Patrick Bamford, given the striker’s form.
“He’s a player that always creates danger in a game,” said Bielsa.
The Leeds boss added, “He’s a player who’s more linked with the finalising of chances rather than the creation of them.
“He has resources to beat an opponent and he has a final shot, a finish that is very good.”
The former Wigan player is clearly highly-rated by his manager, therefore, and if we can secure safety soon we will surely get to see Joffy in action soon.
That is what several supporters hope for, as shown by the reactions below.

Look forward to him getting a chance. Hernandez did nothing on Friday bless him. #lufc

And we should have brought him on Friday and given him a chance maybe?…..I’d love to see him get at least a 15 minute run because behind Bam Bam, let’s be honest, we’ve noting.
