Robin Koch was put straight into the Leeds United line-up today, despite only hooking up with his new teammates on Monday.

Marcelo Bielsa doesn’t normally do that but any decision might have been taken out of his hands after Liam Cooper was ruled out with an injury.

It meant Pascal Struijk coming into the centre of defence alongside the German international.

However, it was a first half to forget for Koch. He gave away a penalty in the first few minutes that was dispatched by Mo Salah.

Then, after Jack Harrison had equalised, Koch lost Virgil van Dijk at a corner to allow a simple header for the Liverpool defender to score his first of the season.

Leeds came back again through Patrick Bamford but the Whites were all over the place at the back and conceded another through Salah.

It was always going to be tough on Koch coming in cold and playing the Premier League champions in his first game at Leeds.

We’re certainly not going to condemn him after one half of football but some Leeds fans were far from impressed by what they saw in the first 45 minutes.

Here are the reactions that Koch won’t want to see if he checks his Twitter feed tonight…
