Many Leeds United fans have reacted to a photo that appears to show the pitch at Elland Road being ripped up this week.
A photo posted to Twitter by a Leeds fan shows half of the turf on the pitch ripped up with four tractors working on the playing surface.
Some fans questioned whether this photo was taken during the summer but others have pointed out the new floodlights in the background which would suggest that the picture was taken fairly recently.
@TheSquareBall looks like they’ve decided to relay the pitch now. Bit strange when we’ve got a game on it in 13 days pic.twitter.com/mBVTn51iIr

The Elland Road playing surface was the subject of much interest during and after the recent Premier League game against Brighton as the pitch looked to be in poor condition.
The relentless rain that his hit areas of the north of England in recent days won’t have helped matters as it looks as though the club is trying to improve the playing surface.
The Whites have two away league games before they return to Elland Road and it looks as though the club have taken the opportunity to improve the pitch in preparation for the second half the season.
Some Leeds fans made the same joke and claimed that the pitch actually looked better now than it did during the Brighton game.
Others expressed concern with Leeds due to play Everton at Elland Road on February 3 which would only give the new turf two weeks to come in properly.
Here is how some Leeds fans reacted to the photo.
Looks better than previous games 😂

Looks an improvement on the brighton game

Good grief. Will the pitch be even ready in 2 weeks? 😳

Looks better than it did vs Brighton 🤣. In fairness they need to do something with it. The way Bielsa sets us up we wouldn’t win many on that pitch.

Just shows how desperate they are with the pitch doesn’t it?

What a nightmare this could be, no chance we could have home games somewhere else temporarily? https://t.co/WZe9Z7h5qe

In other Leeds United news, Sky Sports claim that the Whites could still do business this month.
