Arsenal know all about Leeds United. The first-half from the game at the Emirates in the FA Cup in January will probably still haunt Mikel Arteta.
The games this season against Liverpool, Man City and Aston Villa are yet more warnings of what Marcelo Bielsa’s side can do to teams.
However, it’s one thing knowing it and another doing something about it.
Thomas Partey is the player that Leeds fans were dreading coming up against – he’s added a real backbone to the Arsenal side.
However, in an official update from the Arsenal medical team on Friday morning, it was confirmed that Partey is out of Sunday’s game.
And plenty of Arsenal fans are now fearing the worst.
Partey’s absence, along with Mohamed Elneny (who tested positive for Covid-19 this week) means that the midfield will likely be Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka at Elland Road.
One Arsenal supporter said, “No Partey or Elneny means a Xhaka disasterclass coming against the quick dynamic play from Leeds.”
Others seemed happy to concede the game already with one particularly pessimistic supporter predicting the game would end 7-0 to Leeds.
We’d take that.
Here are the best reactions from concerned Arsenal fans…
