Leeds United smashed their transfer record to sign Rodrigo from Valencia and the Spain number nine could be in action on Thursday in a blockbuster game against Germany.

The Leeds fans got a glimpse of what to expect on Tuesday morning after the official Leeds Twitter account posted a clip of Rodrigo training with his Spain teammates.

Rodrigo picks the ball up near the goal and jinks to his left, putting David de Gea and Sergio Ramos on the floor, before finishing.

One Leeds fan was left in awe, saying, “Can’t believe this is real life lads.” Another said, “Just our record signing making a show of de Gea in training.”

We’re hoping to see Rodrigo play some part in the game on Thursday.

He suffered a recurring knee injury last season and that kept him out of the last five games of La Liga.

We’re not expecting him to start against Liverpool on September 12, but if he plays on Thursday then it means his general fitness is good.

Then it’s just a case of Rodrigo getting up to Bielsa fitness and the hope will be that doesn’t take too long.

In the meantime, here’s a look at what we can expect from Rodrigo when he gets onto the pitch at Elland Road.

And these Leeds fans are very happy at the prospect…
