Leeds United fans seem divided by the news that the club is in advanced talks to sign Crystal Palace youngster Jadan Raymond.
Phil Hay reported on The Athletic website that Raymond, 16, has rejected a new deal at Selhurst Park and is also in talks with Portuguese club Vitoria Guimaraes.
It is understood that Leeds have a clear pathway to their senior side for the young midfielder, which is one of the reasons why he is opting to quit Palace and consider a move to West Yorkshire.
Even though Raymond sounds like a decent young player who could be worth the risk for Leeds, not all fans are delighted to see Hay’s transfer report.
There are some who are happy with one saying she has spoken to Crystal Palace fans and has heard good things about the teenager while another has simply dubbed the news as “brilliant”.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
Speaking to a couple of palace fans I know and they’ve said he’s a talent, fingers crossed considering we always seem to produce good youth that gets sold on🤞🏼

As mentioned, not everyone is happy.
It seems that some fans are not impressed because of how many young players that have been welcomed to Thorp Arch and never really burst into the first-team.
But we simply do not understand that argument.
Victor Orta and his scouts work hard to identify players who could be good enough for the first-team in the future or, at the very least, make the club a profit.
Why not have a go at signing a player like Raymond for a nominal compensation fee when he could be worth a lot more in the future?
Some fans struggle to understand that some signings at youth level work out, but loads more don’t and that is not just the case at Leeds.
What is it with Leeds, signing a lot of so called potential then don't give them a chance in first team, which is threadbare and lacking decent squad cover…

I mean another u23’s player, how many ‘prospects’ have we signed in the last 3 seasons. No doubting his ability but it’s exhausting seeing these lads come and go when there’s certain hype about them.

Another one for Bielsa to put on the bench

Let's concentrate on this season first, then we'll see .what's the use taking about new signals when we really never do them.

In other Leeds United news, Leeds are on the hunt to sign this Dutch centre-forward.
