View: Leeds United Fans have cause for concern over transfer stance

Leeds United are one of the few Premier League clubs in the bottom half of the table yet to make any additions to their squad in the January transfer window.

They have brought in one teenage striker in Mateo Joseph Fernadez but he is going to play for the Under-23s under Mark Jackson.

There are, at least, some irons in the fire with Marcelo Bielsa hoping to add one more name to his list of players but that might not be enough.

As detailed by Graham Smyth in the Yorkshire Evening Post, it isn’t a question of the quality of the players in Bielsa’s squad, nor the Argentine himself, but a case of injuries that have ravaged his senior players all season long.

One signing isn’t going to make a whole lot of difference to an already threadbare squad, no matter the quality they can bring in.

RB Salzburg’s Brendan Aaronson has been the name on every Leeds United fan’s lips most recently but the Austrian champions are standing firm on their asking price, something that the Whites aren’t keen on matching.

It’s a worrying time for supporters who had hoped to see two or maybe even three new faces through the door this month but they might be left with none.

Other big relegation candidates in Everton and Newcastle have been making moves but as of yet, Leeds are keeping their powder dry.

The powers that be at Elland Road need to make moves in the final few days of the January transfer window just to cover for any further injuries that may occur in this bizarre season.

In other Leeds United news, this player is keen to leave the Whites, but Bielsa doesn’t want to see him go.
