Speculation linking Raphinha with Manchester United transfer heats up

Raphinha stole the show at Elland Road in his debut season as a Leeds United player.

After costing the Whites what turned out to be a bargain £17million fee [Goal] in September when he swapped Rennes for West Yorkshire, the Brazilian winger went on to score six goals and supply nine assists in 30 Premier League appearances.

He was widely lauded for his performances but unfortunately, you cannot get very far without being linked with a move to another club if you’re playing well in the biggest league in the world.

We’ve seen Raphinha linked with a number of clubs.

EuroSport have recently claimed Borussia Dortmund are eyeing the 24-year-old as a potential replacement for Jadon Sancho if he moves on while SportItalia journalist Gianluigi Longari says Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are keen.

And it’s the speculation linking Raphinha with the latter that’s starting to scare us.

According to a new update by The Mirror, talk of Raphinha ditching Elland Road to head to Old Trafford this summer is starting to heat up.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be “desperate” to win silverware at Man United next season and it seems as though he’s sounded out Raphinha as someone to help him do that.

Raphinha has close ties to Red Devils star Bruno Fernandes having played alongside the Portuguese international at Sporting CP before he joined Rennes.

If Raphinha’s going to move on this summer, it does seem as though a move to Man United is more likely given those factors.

It’s a terrifying thought that our most technically gifted players could join our biggest rivals ahead of next season.

Let’s hope Andrea Radrizzani puts a firm stop to that because to put it bluntly, he doesn’t need the money having gained investment from the 49ers earlier this year.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are in talks with this well-known agent over a move for an international dazzler.
