Signing Adama Traore as free-agent will be ideal business for Leeds United
Leeds United were active in the recently concluded transfer window where they managed to sign six first-team players, but they clearly need more.
One of the players they were linked to within the early phase of the transfer window was Wolves winger Adama Traore, according to 90min.
The 26-year-old returned to Molineux Stadium after spending a six-month loan spell with Barcelona.
Leeds under Jesse Marsch is an extension of how it used to be Marcelo Bielsa where the focus is pressing from the front and depends on speed rather than anything else.
Even though Leeds were linked with Traore for similar reasons because he is extremely quick and when on song is very hard to stop, the deal did not materialise because the club was unable to meet the valuation of Wolves for their player.
However, if the Whites get a chance to sign Traore next summer on a free, they must do all they can to close the deal as soon as possible as he will bring something different to the side.
The player is currently in the final year of his deal with Wolves and will leave the club for free next summer if he is not rewarded with a contract extension.
The Spain international has been a Wolves player ever since joining Wolves in the summer of 2018 when he moved from Middlesbrough in a deal worth £18 million.
Since then, he has represented his current club in 159 matches across all competitions where he has managed to score 12 times and provided 18 assists in the process [Transfermarkt].
