Rodrigo could be set for final Leeds United appearance v Tottenham as Phil Hay update emerges
Like several teams this summer, Leeds United will be in for a massive shake-up, with a long list of players set to be involved in incomings and outgoings at Elland Road.
That upheaval will take place regardless of what happens on the final day of the season, with many senior places set to call time on their careers at the West Yorkshire outfit.
And one such player that could be on his way out is star forward Rodrigo, with the Spaniard potentially lining out for the Whites for the final time when Leeds meet Tottenham on Sunday (28 May).
The striker was a doubt for the huge clash due to a foot injury, but he is now “absolutely” expected to start under Sam Allardyce on the final day, Phil Hay said on Sky Sports News (28 May, 10:44am).
It’s a massive boost for the Whites, who will be in desperate need of goals against Tottenham due to the home side’s shaky defence, which looks very unlikely to keep a clean sheet against Harry Kane and Co.
The West Yorkshire outfit are by no means flush when it comes to being capable of scoring goals either, with Rodrigo their top scorer in all competitions this season with 15, more than twice as many as second-placed Luis Sinisterra on seven, as per BBC Sport.

There won’t be many people associated with the club who will be looking beyond the clash with Tottenham, but Rodrigo has perhaps already made his mind up about his next steps.
The striker, like a handful of his teammates, is too good to be playing in the Championship, and also too good to be playing for a side that is struggling in the bottom half of the Premier League.
At 32, the Spaniard still has plenty of legs left in him to do a fine job elsewhere, with plenty of offers expected to come in for him this summer.
Leeds would definitely miss their main man, with the only saving grace in his exit being the removal of a player who is earning a huge £100,000-per-week in wages (The Times).
For now, all eyes will be on the final day clash, a game which could be settled by a single goal, with Rodrigo set to go down in Leeds history if he can be the man to find that goal.
