Pundit view: Paul Robinson makes exciting Leeds transfer claim – Exclusive
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United
Paul Robinson has made an exciting Leeds transfer prediction, saying that he thinks the club is going to “spend heavily” in the summer.
Leeds spent over £100m last summer and on the back of that have enjoyed a very successful campaign, looking likely to finish in mid-table in their first season back in the top-flight.
Robinson also said that Leeds, as a buying club, are in a very strong position given the perilous financial state some clubs find themselves in after the Covid pandemic.
Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News Robinson said, “Leeds spent heavily last summer but you look at who they brought in and they did it well and fairly conservatively.
“I can see Leeds spending big again this summer after a very successful season.

“I think they’ll go heavily into the transfer market.
“Leeds are a buying club at the moment and anyone that’s a buying club is in a really strong position with the way the world is at the moment.
“Anyone with money at the moment is in a strong position.
“A left-back is a priority with Alioski likely to leave. Leeds need someone who can play there regularly, a reliable and proven player.
“Arsenal did very well with Kieran Tierney. Luke Shaw has had a brilliant season but it’s taken him a long time to get there.
“Leeds need someone who can slot in there straight away.”
Alioski seems the most likely of the Leeds first-team players to leave at the end of the season when his current contract runs out.
Some fans are upset that he has been linked strongly with a move to Galatasaray.
However, Leeds need a new left-back and that would see Alioski become a squad player rather than a regular starter.
