Predicted Leeds starting XI v Watford

Leeds United welcome Watford to Elland Road on Saturday looking for their first Premier League win of the season.

The Whites have never gone seven games without a win at the start of a regular campaign and will be looking to keep that record against the Hornets.

Marcelo Bielsa will hopefully have some fitness boosts, and the return of Pascal Struijk will also benefit the squad.

Illan Meslier will continue in goal, and that will be a statement that will be made for many more years to come at Elland Road.

The back four will see a couple of changes, with Luke Ayling and Pascal Struijk both returning from their forced absences.

Liam Cooper and Junior Firpo will remain in the squad, and that means bad news for Charlie Cresswell and Jamie Shackleton despite their stunning performances against West Ham.

That leaves Kalvin Phillips ahead of the defence with hopefully less to do with a more experienced backline behind him.

Stuart Dallas and Mateusz Klich will continue in midfield, and they will want a better outcome than their efforts on Saturday.

The front three will also see one change with no news emerging on Patrick Bamford’s injury, we are assuming he may miss out again.

That leaves Rodrigo starting in that false nine role once again with Raphinha alongside him on the right after they shined together.

Dan James being dragged off at half-time for Jack Harrison against West Ham told a big story, and we expect that change to happen in the starting XI this time around.
