Patrick Bamford injured, Luis Sinisterra to make debut - Leeds United predicted XI vs Chelsea

Leeds United look to make it seven points from their first three Premier League games of the season when they face Chelsea at Elland Road on Sunday.

The Whites opened the season with a 2-1 win over Wolves, before dropping a 2-0 lead at Southampton to fall to a 2-2 draw last weekend. But that game came with more issues too, as Patrick Bamford suffered an injury once again.

Now Jesse Marsch must make a decision on the striker position as well as the rest of the side for the best chance to get three points against one of the best sides in the country.

Despite recent speculation linking Illan Meslier to Tottenham, the Frenchman is seen as unsellable this summer and will start in goal at Elland Road.

Defensively Luke Ayling and Junior Firpo are still not expected to be available for a few weeks, while Liam Cooper is back in training but is unlikely to be risked from the start in this game.

That means the back four is likely to remain as that, with the same four players making it up. Rasmus Kristensen has had a steady start to life in England at right back, while Pascal Struijk has filled in well at left-back. Diego Llorente and Robin Koch should keep their places in the middle.

In midfield, the duo of summer signings in Marc Roca and Tyler Adams were brought in to form a partnership and they’ve done just that.

With energy and ball retention combining they are a solid base to build from, and both have great tactical intelligence to cope with not being on the ball for long periods as is likely here, so they will continue to start in central midfield.

Ahead of them there is a decision to make for Marsch, with plenty of attacking options and plenty of players vying for those spots.

Brenden Aaronson and Jack Harrison have started the season really well out wide and are likely to continue in the team, while Spaniard Rodrigo is the Premier League’s top goalscorer and will start.

There could however be a shuffle of where they play, with Bamford likely to miss out with the problem he picked up last week. Joe Gelhardt is pushing for a start up front, but the boss could be tempted to hand a debut to summer signing Luis Sinisterra.

Sinisterra would come in on the left wing, which could see Harrison moved to the number ten position, with Rodrigo moving up front to fill in for Bamford.
