Marcelo Bielsa regularly draws criticism from sections of the Leeds United fanbase for his refusal to make unforced changes to his starting line-up.
We’ve seen the likes of Patrick Bamford and Mateusz Klich go through rough patches this season where they have failed to impress, only to pop up at vital moments and help Leeds win matches.
One player who has been under fire more than anyone else in the last couple of months is goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.
The 33-year-old has made a number of errors this season, with the latest one being when he miscontrolled the ball to allow Brentford to score an easy goal.
If that hadn’t have happened the Leeds would have more than likely won all three points at Griffin Park, rather than returning to West Yorkshire with just one point in the bag.
After that mistake, a lot of Leeds fans were calling for Bielsa to drop the former Real Madrid goalkeeper and replace him in the starting line-up with the Illan Meslier.
Meslier, 19, has only played once for the Whites’ first-team this season but in that one appearance he impressed in a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup.
But still, Bielsa stuck by Casilla, seemingly in the hope that his faith in the Spaniard would be rewarded.
And, on Saturday, it was.
Casilla pulled off a magnificent save late in the game as Leeds won 1-0 against Reading.
He’s now kept clean sheets in consecutive games, with stats by WhoScored showing that he made three saves across them both.
Bielsa was visibly delighted with Casilla at full-time on Saturday as he high-fived the under-fire goalkeeper for his last-ditch heroics.
It seems that finally, Casilla is proving Bielsa to be right to stick by him.
In other Leeds United news, Kalvin Phillips has called one player a “tank” for his display versus Reading.
