MOT View: Reported Leeds target is right, he does match Erling Haaland in this key area
There are few signings in world football that could get Leeds United pulses racing as quickly as that of Erling Håland.
Before we go any further, the Norwegian wunderkind isn’t going to be arriving at Elland Road anytime soon.
But there could be a pretty decent impersonator in the pipeline – according to the player himself that is.
Argentine striker Adolfo Gaich has been linked with the Whites for some time now, and according to the 21-year-old, he and Håland share some pretty similar qualities.
Speaking to TyC Sports, he said: “Håland is quite similar on the physical side.
“One of my virtues is my power and I scored many goals for being well positioned [inside the box].”

But how true is his assessment of himself and the Borussia Dortmund hitman?
Actually, to be fair to the lad, he might have a point.
As per Wyscout, Gaich has contested 27.98 duels per game this season – 7.71 more than Håland.
Of those duels, he has win 36% – 1% less than the Scandinavian.
Aerially, Gaich has contested 5.42 duels more than his counterpart, and has won 0.3% more.
Take this headed goal from last November as an example.
Just look how much elevation Gaich has gotten on his leap.
The South American has bullied his defender so effectively that he can’t even get off the ground.
He rises highest, and it’s his physical prowess that really allows him to score what its ultimately an easy goal.
Whether the rest of his game is as sharp as Håland’s is a matter of some debate, but certainly when it comes to his physicality, you could argue he is actually better than the Dortmund man.
