MOT View: Preston injury update could benefit Leeds with influential ace ruled out
With Pablo Hernandez being ruled out for a month recently, Leeds United fans will start to fear the worst.
It brings back bad memories of last season where injuries played a real part behind the Whites’ fall from grace when promotion was in their hands.
Anyway, less time for excuses, every team suffers injuries, right? It’s Preston up next in another top of the table clash at Elland Road.
Preston confirmed their injury news on their website on Monday with a number of faces set to miss out on Boxing Day.
Ben Davies is back in contention, but Daniel Johnson and Louis Moult will both miss out alongside the suspended duo of Darnell Fisher and Joe Rafferty.
With a busy Christmas period approaching it appears that it isn’t only Leeds who are struggling with injury issues in the Championship.
That makes Leeds’ situation seem less troubling, and Marcelo Bielsa will know from analysing his next opponents that Johnson will be a massive miss for Preston.
Johnson is at the heart of most things Alex Neil’s side do and has already been involved in 12 goals this season. The Jamaican international sits at the top of both the goals and assist tallies, and is a constant menace from midfield.
Kalvin Phillips will rest easier knowing Johnson will be missing, something that is set to benefit the Whites massively.
