The speculation surrounding Leeds United and their hunt for a centre-back capable of replacing Ben White is likely to be relentless and well-documented this summer.
While there is no guarantee that the hugely popular loanee will leave this summer, Brighton have already stated that they plan to hang on to the 22-year-old for years to come.
Likewise, in the past few days we have seen the Mirror put a fairly defiant end to rumours linking Middlesbrough contract rebel Daniel Ayala with a move to Elland Road.
But two names that have come up recurrently over the past few weeks are that of SC Freiburg defender Robin Koch and Tottenham Hotspur man Juan Foyth.
But the latest report from German outlet Bild puts an interesting spin on things.
According to them, Spurs have now entered the race for Koch too.
And while that would ordinarily throw a major spanner in the works for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, it could actually prove to be a blessing in disguise.
If Jose Mourinho is able to land Koch you would assume that he would be even more inclined to part company with Foyth this summer.
Likewise, if Spurs decide to hang on to the Argentine, that could diminish their interest in Koch.
There could be a transfer merry-go-round sparking into life between Leeds and Tottenham this summer, but whichever way it spins and wherever it lands, it could still stand to benefit us hugely.
Let’s just hope everything runs smoothly and there are no further complications for the Whites.
