MOT View: One Leeds player likely to be head & shoulders above rest when EFL restarts
If one player is going to stand out above all others for Leeds United when the Championship season restarts – it is going to be Mateusz Klich.
Since Marcelo Bielsa arrived at Elland Road two years ago, the 29-year-old has started every single Championship game.
For an outfield player, that is ridiculously impressive and just shows how fit he is as a player – especially due to the role that he plays.
WyScout’s heatmap shows how much ground Klich has covered in the Championship this season for Leeds.
The Polish midfielder is a Duracell-bunny of a player who simply doesn’t stop running and is easily one of the most important players in Leeds’ squad.
Once the season is back underway, Leeds are going to have to play a lot of fixtures in a short period of time.
It wouldn’t be a shock to see the Whites play two or three games a week so they can complete their final nine games before the end of July.
Although Bielsa can make five subs each game thanks to a temporary rule, the fixture congestion is going to be tough on the legs of each and every Leeds player.
But if there is someone it won’t be too taxing on it is Klich and his endless supply of energy.
He’s been outstanding for Leeds so far. We have no doubt that he’ll continue to be outstanding when the season resumes on June 20.
