Leeds United under-23s have not enjoyed the best start to life in the Premier League 2 this season.
Mark Jackson has recently been appointed as Carlos Corberan’s replacement at Thorp Arch, stepping up from the under-18s.
It hasn’t been an easy transition at the Whites, with a number of new signings making their academy a new-look side in nearly every position.
A 4-0 defeat at Stoke on Monday was followed by a disappointing collapse and 2-2 draw at home against Wolves.
The biggest bright spark in those games? Joe Gelhardt.
The forward, who arrived from Wigan this summer has been phenomenal and even scored his first goal for the club against Wolves.

It was a stunning strike too, with the forward twisting and turning through multiple men in the box before smashing the ball home at the near post.
Gelhardt has proved he isn’t afraid to get on the ball and take on his man and was a constant thorn in the side of the Wolves defence.
His ability to drop deep to pick up possession and find a defence-splitting pass in the final third will have impressed Marcelo Bielsa watching on, as well as his desire to get back and defend.
Leeds Live journalist Beren Cross called Gelhardt a “serious player” after the clash, even claiming that the striker could turn out to be one of the best deals Victor Orta has completed during his time at the club.
Should the young forward continue like this, it will be no time before we see him in the first-team set up in the Premier League.
