Leeds United cruised to a 3-0 victory against Aston Villa on Friday evening in the Premier League.
It was the perfect performance from an understrength Whites, who ended the perfect record of the home side with ease.
Patrick Bamford may have stolen the headlines with his three goals, but every Leeds player on the pitch did their side proud.
Rodrigo definitely caught our eye in the 3-0 win.
The Spaniard arrived at Elland Road for a club-record £27million and failed to justify that price tag in the opening Premier League games.
That has definitely changed though, and he was superb against Villa – popping up everywhere in the game for the Whites.
Rodrigo completed 93% of his passes according to WyScout and played a vital role in two of the three goals in the second half.
Looking at his roles in the two goals also prove that Rodrigo is starting to learn the playmaker role perfectly under Marcelo Bielsa.
In the first goal, the Spaniard burst into the perfect hole in the Villa defence – and his shot across the box forced a good save that Bamford took advantage of.
It would be hard to imagine Pablo Hernandez having the pace to break into that hole behind the Villa defence, and the Spanish veteran may now have to settle for a role as an impact sub.
Many may suggest that Rodrigo doesn’t have the passing range that Hernandez has, but he proved those people wrong with his defence-splitting pass in the third goal.
The 29-year-old managed to somehow find Helder Costa with the perfect pass, and two passes later, the ball was in the net.
Each of these examples prove that he is justifying his worth as each game passes by, and the game against Leicester is his next opportunity to get even better.
