MOT View: Leeds must loan out attacker in January for sake of his career
Ryan Edmondson has been turning heads for a long time at Leeds United.
He made his debut back in May 2018 when he came on in the 2-0 win against QPR.
Since Marcelo Bielsa arrived he’s made one further cameo appearance in the 2-1 defeat to Birmingham last year, but he’s only made the bench once in 2019.
Meanwhile, he’s been doing bits for the Under-23s, helping them to the PDL North title last season before winning the national play-offs.
He was on the scoresheet again today for Carlos Corberan’s side and that’s four goals in the last six games for the Under-23s.
The Leeds fans want him to get a chance in the first team but it’s a huge step up to the Championship.
Be nice to see Ryan in the team for the cup match!

One fan said it would be good to see him in the FA Cup side to face Arsenal, but with all the will in the world, we think Bielsa is going to play his strongest side at the Emirates. At the very least it will give him a good idea of how his players will fare next season if they get promoted.
We honestly can’t see Edmondson getting any game time between now and the end of the season.
Eddie Nketiah has struggled to get in the side and if he stays he’ll be the stand-in for Patrick Bamford.
If Nketiah goes, all the noises we’ve heard suggest Leeds are going to get a replacement in.
Bielsa always looks inwards where possible. If Kiko Casilla is banned then he’s going to give Illan Meslier a chance, according to Athletic journalist Phil Hay.
That just says to us that Bielsa doesn’t think Edmondson is ready, so why not send him out on loan?
The 18-year-old could do with stepping up from the Under-23s and if not with Leeds, then surely he’d be better off somewhere else?
There would surely be teams queuing up for him in League One and we think six months there will give Bielsa a much clearer idea of whether he’s going to make the grade at Elland Road. He deserves every chance.
We think a loan move this January is a must for the 18-year-old.
