MOT View: Leeds ace puts in blinder for U23s v Bolton, timely reminder for Bielsa

Carlos Corberan once again had a number of first-team faces to call upon against Bolton in his Leeds United Under-23s squad.

Jack Clarke, Eddie Nketiah, and Ezgjan Alioski all completed 90 minutes and all found the back of the net in a 5-1 win.

All three impressed and will have given something for Marcelo Bielsa to think about going into the Fulham clash on Saturday.

It was Clarke who caught the eye on the right-hand side, and he finally delivered flashbacks of the form he was showing last season.

He tormented the Bolton defence all evening, and they couldn’t get near him as he was the catalyst behind the Whites’ success.

His goal in the first half may have taken a deflection, but that was the least he deserved.

Clarke continued that in the second half, and the home side had to resort to tactical fouls in order to halt his progress on multiple occasions.

That is the type of form that caught the attention of Tottenham in the summer, with reports now suggesting he could be recalled in January [Express].

His performance was a reminder that despite him not featuring much in the first team, he can still be a massive asset to the Whites.

Leeds should give Clarke more minutes based on this performance, or losing him in January could be a massive blow.

In other Leeds United news, fans raved about this player in the Under-23s on Monday night.
