MOT View: Leeds 20y/o saying all the right things, first-team debut surely close
Leeds United youngster Robbie Gotts is in the middle of a rollercoaster month.
The 20-year-old has been on the bench over 30 times without making his debut in the Championship – which could be a record for any outfield player in the history of the club.
Marcelo Bielsa commented on Gotts’ situation at the club recently, saying that he has never seen a player with a better engine and energy than the midfield sensation, something reliable journalist Phil Hay labelled staggering.
Despite that, the Argentine went on to admit that he would happily let the youngster leave on loan in search of regular football – something he can’t hand him at Elland Road at this moment in time.
Gotts hasn’t let that get him down though, as he shined once again for the under-23s on Monday evening. We were there to watch him come off the bench at half time and torment Bolton, scoring a goal in the 5-1 thrashing.
Many Leeds fans went wild for Gotts, with the majority claiming his debut is drawing closer if he continues on the same run of form for Carlos Corberan’s side.
The midfield maestro himself commented on his role in the victory on Monday, heaping praise on his teammates while posting a video of his goal on his personal Twitter account.
Good win from the lads!👏🏼 happy to get on the score sheet⚽️ https://t.co/mee1GXl6FS
