MOT View: Leeds could miss out on loan ace as Liverpool join hunt

Ben White has been nothing short of phenomenal this season for Leeds United.

Arriving from Brighton on loan in the summer, the 22-year-old came to Elland Road slightly unknown, but after two months he has certainly earned a reputation.

With only loan spells at Newport County and Peterborough to his name before joining the Whites, it was unknown how he would adapt at Elland Road.

Football Insider have reported that Liverpool are tracking the progress of White. The Reds have been blown away by the defender.

FI claims that Brighton value the enforcer at over £20million and hope to see him in their first-team after this campaign.

We would love to see the deal for White turn permanent after his start the season. But we have to be realistic, and the chances of doing that seem very slim.

White has excelled both on and off the ball at Elland Road. His work in possession has been exemplary, averaging 65.5 passes per game according to WhoScored.

After the departure of Pontus Jansson to Brentford in the summer, many of us were left scratching our heads on how we would replace him.

The 22-year-old has wiped away that confusion and he actually contributes much more than the Swedish international in Bielsa’s system.

We would love to see White in a Leeds shirt for many years to come once his loan spell ends, but with the likes of Liverpool tracking the defender, it seems unlikely.
