MOT View: Harrison & Cooper to start – Predicted Leeds starting XI v QPR

Naming an unchanged Leeds line-up is generally the safest prediction you can make with Marcelo Bielsa on the levers, but we’re breaking with tradition this week.

One change we can’t see happening is Pablo Hernandez. Bielsa has said he’s close and there’s a chance he could make this weekend. Going against this is the fact that he played no part in the Under-23s game at Elland Road on Monday.

That’s the normal route back for players under Marcelo Bielsa, although it’s entirely possible that Hernandez gets special treatment because of his age.

We think QPR comes too soon, though, and that he’ll be targetting the Blackburn game the week after. His return can’t come soon enough.

Liam Cooper and Jamie Shackleton played the first 45 minutes for the Under-23s and we think that will signal both starting on Saturday.

Cooper was limping before half-time but seemed okay when he was walking down the tunnel and we think he comes in for Gaetano Berardi.

Stuart Dallas has been brilliant this season at right-back but he’s not as effective in midfield. Shackleton will bring more menace and we think Dallas drops to the bench, although there’s a chance he could move to the right and Ayling could drop out.

There’s no start for Eddie Nketiah. Patrick Bamford will get another chance to break his duck going back nine games. Jack Harrison and Helder Costa hold onto their places but will be looking over their shoulders with Hernandez almost back.
