Leeds United already had a huge amount of talented young players on their books and they’ve added more this summer.
Joe Gelhardt, Cody Drameh, Charlie Allen and Sam Greenwood all signed this summer and will make the Under-23s a powerful force in Premier League 2.
Gelhardt has been turning heads at Thorp Arch and the striker who broke into the Wigan first team last season could well make it into Bielsa’s first-team squad this campaign.
However, there’s another young attacker who’s been turning heads on the international stage in the last week.
Mateusz Bogusz scored two goals for the Poland Under-21s against Estonia when he played as a striker in the 6-0 win. He also got an assist and added another when he played as an attacking midfielder last night in the 1-0 win against Russia.
Respected Twitter account Scouting Polska was full of praise for Bogusz after his recent international performances.
In a tweet last night, Bogusz was described as “standout” and the post went on to say: “If he was playing in the #Ekstraklasa he would be on Poland’s National Team alongside Moder and Karbownik, he’s that good.”
It was said he “just needs senior football”.
Mateusz Bogusz (19) has been a stand out player for 🇵🇱 U-21.
I'm expecting him to make Leeds first team in 1-2 years.

Bogusz has first-team ambitions and was said to be “angry” at his lack of opportunity in the senior side last season.
As quoted in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Bogusz said, “I’m angry that I don’t get a chance. But looking at development and how to train here, I can honestly tell you I feel that I have developed amazingly, for example when it comes to endurance. I could jump in, play 90 minutes, face such an effort as a player from the first team and there would be no problem.”
With a gruelling Premier League campaign ahead, Bielsa needs players with endurance.
Bogusz made his senior debut in the EFL Cup last season and got on the pitch for 17 minutes in the last game of the campaign against Charlton.
If he doesn’t go out on loan we think that Bielsa must unleash him in the first-team and give him a run on the bench.
He could be the surprise breakthrough star in the Premier League.
