MOT View: Exit surely on the cards as Leeds loanee set for crunch manager talks

We feel sorry for Leeds United loanee Jack Clarke.

Last season was a real rollercoaster ride for the young attacker.

He burst into the first team for Leeds and thrilled the fans with some swashbuckling displays before collapsing in the game against Middlesbrough and being subsequently diagnosed with a virus.

That led to a spell on the sidelines but he’d already convinced Tottenham that they should buy him and he was sold in the summer before being loaned back to Leeds.

This season has been a frustrating one for him. Dropped from the squad entirely earlier in the season, Clarke has been an unused sub for the majority of the campaign.

He came on for his only appearance of the season when he was given 19 minutes in the 2-1 win against Luton.

Now, Football Insider has claimed that Clarke is set for crunch talks with Jose Mourinho on Sunday.

The youngster has been invited to the new stadium to watch Tottenham’s clash against Chelsea on Sunday.

The talks with Mourinho will likely decide his next move with Football Insider claiming that Tottenham are set to recall him as soon as the January window opens.

Championship rivals Fulham, Middlesbrough, Derby County and Nottingham Forest have all been credited with an interest.

A move would make sense. Clarke may well get more minutes for Leeds but he’s not going to get much game-time unless there are a string of injuries.

Mourinho won’t be impressed with how his season has unfolded and will surely look to act decisively in a bid to nurture a player who has undoubted talent.
