MOT View: Eddie Nketiah hopes could hand Leeds January boost

After a whirlwind start to life at Leeds United, question marks have started to surround the loan deal of Eddie Nketiah.

Many fans have been disappointed with the young forward recently, as he has struggled after returning from injury – not finding the back of the net since the 1-1 draw against Preston North End.

The Daily Mail has reported that Arsenal are angry with the Whites over playing time, with the form of Patrick Bamford keeping him out of the side. It is suggested he could be recalled in January.

Recent comments from Nketiah himself though could suggest that the Gunners might not call him back to the 20-year-old, who has admitted he wants to push himself into a chance of more game time at Leeds.

The Arsenal loanee has recently opened up on his move to Elland Road, claiming that he hopes to continue learning from Marcelo Bielsa between now and the end of the season.

“It’s been a new experience,” he told Gaffer Magazine.

“You get to see the level of detail and preparation which he puts in on a day-to-day basis. He’s really passionate about football. Above all else, he just loves the game.

“It’s been good to learn from him. It’s still very early stages, but hopefully, I can continue to learn from him to get a bigger run of games and use his advice to help me in my career.”

Nketiah himself admitted the loan spell was still in the early stages, which is not the comments of a person who is expecting to leave in less than a months time.

We believe that the young forward could stay at Elland Road for the rest of the season despite the majority of recent updates suggesting the opposite may happen.

The England youth international will know himself that he needs to improve, but if he can recapture the form that saw him almost push into a starting position at the beginning of the campaign, we could be in for a treat.
