MOT View: Bielsa to make one change – Predicted Leeds starting XI v Reading
Leeds United will be looking to make it four wins on the bounce when they travel to the Madejski on Tuesday night.
Two wins at home were followed by a victory against Luton away on Saturday and with West Brom not playing until Wednesday, a win against Reading will see Leeds move back to the top of the table.
Marcelo Bielsa made two changes to his line-up on Saturday, bringing in Gaetano Berardi and Pablo Hernandez.
Berardi struggled and was subbed off in the second half of the game, with Liam Cooper fit enough to come on as a sub after the groin issue that kept him out for Scotland during the international break.
If Cooper is 100% then we’d expect him to start on Tuesday. Leeds are much better with Cooper and Ben White at the heart of their defence.
Leeds have missed Hernandez and although he wasn’t back to his sharp, incisive best on Saturday, match time will bring that back. He should start again on Tuesday.
Helder Costa hasn’t delivered yet for Leeds and the system Bielsa is playing doesn’t suit him.
Eddie Nketiah is set to return to training this week but Tuesday’s game will be too soon for him. Bamford will be looking to score in three consecutive league games for the first time for Leeds.
Reading lost to Brentford on Saturday and are struggling. They’re 18th in the league but they did beat Luton 3-0 in their last outing at home.
It won’t be an easy game but Leeds should have too much for the hosts and it’s games like this that they need to win if they want to get automatic promotion.
