MOT View: Bielsa to drop star who gave everything v Hull – Predicted Leeds starting XI v Cardiff

Leeds United are on the lookout for their eighth win in a row on Saturday when they host Cardiff.

That would be the biggest run of victories since Marcelo Bielsa took over and would really cement Leeds’ status as favourites to go up and win the Championship.

Leeds finally dethroned West Brom at the top of the table after the Baggies couldn’t match their run of wins, only managing a draw against Wigan on Wednesday.

Cardiff lost to Brentford on Wednesday, but had been on a run of three wins before that, including a 1-0 win against promotion rivals Nottingham Forest.

Leeds still have injury problems – Tyler Roberts, Jamie Shackleton and Adam Forshaw are unlikely to be fit for Saturday.

Liam Cooper could well be ready to return, though, and we think he comes straight back into the side if fit, despite Gaetano Berardi starring in the 2-0 win against Hull.

Berardi was one of the best players on the pitch for Leeds on Tuesday, and gave absolutely everything for the cause, but he will be the fall guy and probably the only change from that team.

If Cooper isn’t fit, we think it’s an unchanged lineup on Saturday.

Gjanni Alioski is staking a very strong claim for a starting spot. He scored against Huddersfield, but was dropped for the Hull game with the return of Kalvin Phillips.

He came on against Hull and scored the goal that secured the three points. However, Marcelo Bielsa loves Stuart Dallas and we can’t see him dropping him with the team on such an exceptional run.
