MOT View: BBC post embarrassing gaff on Leeds player Adam Forshaw

BBC Sport have got it all wrong with their latest Leeds United team news this week in the Premier League.

The Whites welcome Leicester City to Elland Road on Sunday afternoon and are still without some key men in the likes of Patrick Bamford.

Despite Adam Forshaw featuring in our last two games, the BBC insist he is still out and only “close to a return.”

In their early team news updates, the BBC got it all wrong with the Whites’ squad and who will be available.

“Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa is once more without the injured trio of Patrick Bamford, Luke Ayling and Robin Koch,” they wrote.

“However, Jamie Shackleton and Junior Firpo may be available, while Adam Forshaw is close to a return.”

What?

We all know that it would be easy to assume that Forshaw is out injured given his injury hell over the past couple of years, but come on.

It has been well documented that the midfielder’s return is a monumental moment and one that many Leeds fans never thought would come.

Forshaw coming back and featuring against the likes of Arsenal and Norwich off the bench is another senior weapon for Marcelo Bielsa to use in his squad.

It is embarrassing on the behalf of the BBC and an insult to assume that the experienced midfield man is still out, and something he won’t take too kindly.

With the games coming thick and fast after the international break, we expect Forshaw to be used more frequently – hopefully, they can remember that as they look to share team news further down the line.
