Leeds United resume their bid to win promotion to the Premier League on Tuesday night with a home clash against relegation-threatened Luton Town.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side moved top of the Championship standings with a massive 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday but the Leeds boss is likely to make one change to his starting line-up for that match.
Pablo Hernandez missed the 2-0 defeat to Cardiff through injury but the Whites were handed a major boost at the weekend when the Spanish magician came off the bench to play a key role in beating Fulham.
Leeds have won just three of their 10 Championship matches without Hernandez this season so having him back in the side is huge for the Yorkshire club.
As he came off the bench, played 45 minutes and didn’t pick up any new injury or fitness issues, we expect Hernandez to start versus Luton but that means that attacker Tyler Roberts is likely to be dropped.
With Kiko Casilla still banned, Illan Meslier is set to start in goals behind a familiar back-four of Luke Ayling, Ben White, Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas.
Kalvin Phillips is predicted to anchor the midfield with Mateusz Klich and Hernandez in the more advanced roles.
Helder Costa went off at half-time against Fulham but is not injured so he could start on the right-wing with Jack Harrison on the left.
Patrick Bamford was also hooked at the break on Saturday but we don’t expect anyone but him to spearhead the attack versus Luton.
Leeds play the Hatters without much of a break after the win over Fulham but Bielsa is not a fan of squad rotation and making changes just to keep players fresh.
But having Hernandez back in the side is something he is bound to do so he can name what we think is his best possible line-up.
Luton should be very worried about coming up against this Leeds team.
In other Leeds United news, fans are thrilled by this player’s “perfect performance” against Fulham.
