Leeds United were defeated by a single lucky goal for the second time this season by Wolves.
Adama Traore saw his second-half effort cannon off the crossbar, hit Ilan Meslier in the back and roll in.
The own goal was enough to separate the two sides, with Wolves leapfrogging Leeds in the table up to 11th. They’ve done the double on Leeds this season with two 1-0 wins.
Patrick Bamford thought he’d salvaged a point, but was ruled offside by the smallest of margins. Liam Cooper and Helder Costa both squandered big chances as Wolves ran out winners.
Here are the MOT Leeds News player ratings…
Ilan Meslier – 7
Much better than his performance against Arsenal. Made four first-half saves including expertly denying Neto from range. Very unfortunate with a goal and his performance didn’t deserve that.
Luke Ayling – 5
Got forward well and put some good balls into the Wolves box, but made too many kistakes. Ultimately was unable to keep Traore quiet, and lost him for the goal.
Pascal Struijk – 7
Forced a good save from Rui Patricio on 26 minutes. Good in the air and very solid when challenging.
Liam Cooper – 7
Solid at the back. Made three interceptions in the first half and was useful in possession. Had two very good chances either side of the own goal, should have really scored the first one.
Stuart Dallas – 5
Wolves had a lot of joy down Leeds’ left-hand side in the first half. Neto proved to be a bit of a handful for him. Disappointing by the high standards Dallas has set this season.
Mateusz Klich – 6
Ran more than any other player in the first half but to no gain. Very nearly caught Patricio out with an effort that hit the post. Put himself about, pulled off after 80 mins.
Raphinha – 8
Leeds’ bright spark again, always looking to drive forward. Robbed of assists due to Cooper’s inability to finish. Tracked back well to nullify Jonny whilst he was on the pitch.
Jamie Shackleton – 6
Worked hard, but ultimately was overrun in midfield. Pulled off after 60 minutes after going a goal down.
Tyler Roberts – 5
Frustrating evening. Was rather wasteful in possession and was dispossessed a few times. Got better as the game went on and became more stretched, nearly got an assist for Bamford.
Jack Harrison – 5
Not his best evening, struggled with the pace of Semedo. Failed to track back twice in the first half and had his keeper to thank for saving Semedo chances. Was substituted on 80 mins.
Patrick Bamford – 5
Was feeding off scraps for most of the evening. The one sight of goal he buried, was offside by a whisker and very unlucky.
Pablo Hernandez – 5
Some tidy touches when he came on, failed to really impact the game much.
Helder Costa – 5
Missed a massive chance on 93 minutes, hit it straight at Rui Patricio.
Gjanni Alioski – 5
