Leeds United signing Wolves striker Hwang Hee-Chan will be good business
Leeds United are interested in signing Wolves striker Hwang Hee-Chan this summer, according to Express & Star.
The Whites have been in the market to sign attacking players to bolster the squad for the 2022-23 campaign but so far, they have had very little luck with that.
For this purpose, as per the latest report, they are linked with a move for the Hwang, who only permanently joined Wolves back in January after his successful loan spell.
Leeds entered the transfer window knowing that they will have to sign more than a few players to strengthen the squad after a difficult campaign where they narrowly managed to avoid relegation.
One area that was definitely highlighted before the start of the transfer window to strengthen was the attacking department where there is too much dependency on Patrick Bamford.
The England international’s injury in the previous campaign started a turbulent phase for the club that resulted in them finishing in the 17th position.
Signing someone like Hwang will be a step in that direction, largely because of what he brings to the table with his pace and physicality, thus making it difficult for the opposition’s defensive units.
He brings something different to the attack. He is more direct, likes to take the opposition on and is strong in the air as well. His arrival will also push Bamford to work on his fitness as he has suffered a lot of injuries in the last two seasons.
During his time with Wolves, the South Korea international represented his current club in 35 matches across all competitions where he managed to score five times and provided a couple of assists [Transfermarkt].
Bamford will see this as a big message, it is time for him to step up.
