Leeds United should have eyes set on January move for Chelsea star after Blues name price
After reportedly showing interest in Christian Pulisic over the summer, Leeds United should be preparing a fresh bid after the latest update on his future.
Pulisic hasn’t quite settled down into Chelsea’s first team since his move to the Blues in 2019. As a result, the American winger could look for a way out of Stamford Bridge, with Italian outlet Calcio Mercato stating he’s in negotiations with Juventus over a £35million move.
Chelsea’s price tag is more than reasonable for Leeds, and while locking horns financially with Juventus is difficult, the Yorkshire side have plenty of selling points that could lure Pulisic to Elland Road.
Pulisic is known as Captain America for his superb role with the United States Men’s National Team, and the 24-year-old would find plenty of familiar faces should he choose to join Leeds in January.
Not only is Jesse Marsch familiar with Pulisic as a fellow American, but the Whites have also brought Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams to the side.
Frequent first-team football can be guaranteed, and Leeds can also give Pulisic the option to stay in the Premier League and prove Chelsea wrong.
While it’s certainly not cheap, Leeds can definitely muster £35million for a player with the quality of Pulisic.
Marsch has already proven plenty of critics wrong over his transfers, with many of his summer signings immediately becoming first-team stars at Elland Road – if he insists he wants to compete for Pulisic’s move, then the board should back him.
