Leeds United player ratings in Premier League showdown v Leicester City

Leeds United travelled to Leicester City on Thursday 20th October looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League at the King Power Stadium.

Jesse Marsch made some eye-catching changes to his side, four in total as the likes of Junior Firpo and Crysencio Summerville among the notable names.

It didn’t work at all, with Leeds shocking on the evening and falling to a 2-0 defeat against a side that has no confidence and was bottom at kick-off.

MOT Leeds News rated the players out of 10 below…

Illan Meslier – 5

There was nothing much he could do about the goals, and in all honesty, he had very little to do outside of that which makes this evening even more frustrating for him.

Rasmus Kristensen – 6

One of our more solid players on the night, but he did get caught out for the second goal coming across and he was far too isolated going forward on the right – he needs more help.

Diego Llorente – 5

A somewhat surprising inclusion in the starting XI, and it didn’t work whatsoever yet again. The Spaniard replaced Liam Cooper, but he is far too hectic on and off the ball for this side.

Robin Koch – 2

Absolute stinker. Despite having a great start to the season, Koch was exposed massively here and it was his own goal that opened the scoring. His night came to an end early at halftime after he was also booked after a foul on Harvey Barnes.

Junior Firpo – 5

Well, if Pascal Struijk is fit again this weekend, he will surely be straight back in on this evidence. Firpo was left exposed with two often on him because of those ahead of him, but he was never in the game and just got picked off easily, as well as committing his token silly fouls.

Marc Roca – 4

The Spaniard has been brilliant in possession since arriving, but for some reason, he could not string a pass together before being dragged off. It was his error that led to that Koch own goal and he has to be much better.

Tyler Adams – 6

Solid again in there when presented with challenges, but his work on the ball left much to be desired as it simply never came together for anyone in a white shirt for large periods.

Brenden Aaronson – 7

The one bright light for Leeds this evening, but his spark was not matched by the majority of those around him as this infuriating streak continues in the final third and in general.

Crysencio Summerville – 4

Not good enough to start at this level, especially when Jack Harrison is on the bench. The young Dutchman was swallowed by the occasion and cannot be given that spot again until he proves himself off the bench, which he has never done in the Premier League.

Luis Sinisterra – 6

It just wouldn’t fall for the South American this evening, with his effort that crashed off the bar the perfect example. He often had his man beaten time after the time, but there was nothing he could do after that and this is what has to change for the Whites.

Patrick Bamford – 5

A shadow of the striker we saw against Arsenal on Sunday, and he simply gave us nothing. Bamford will be infuriated to have got the start he was craving, only to throw it away with nothing given in either third of the pitch.

Leeds United Substitutes: Liam Cooper – 5, Rodrigo – 5, Jack Harrison – 5.
