Leeds United need Rodrigo to continue delivering

Rodrigo has had a fantastic start to the season for Leeds United, who need the Spaniard to continue his goalscoring run.

The 31-year-old has scored three goals in two games as the Whites are yet to lose a game this season, with four points from six so far.

However, the Whites will need the forward to remain hot this season, and the Spaniard has revealed that he is happy his goals are helping the team. [Leeds Official Website]

He said: “It’s not a bad start, we’ve had a better start to the season than the last one.

“I am happy for the goals to help the team.

“The most important thing always is the team, it’s the win, so that is why we are here and everyone works every day.”

Can Rodrigo keep scoring?

The Spaniard has made it his mission this season to put his slow start to life at Elland Road behind him and start to deliver on his huge price tag.

In the first two games of the season, he has been playing in the hole behind the striker and doing so to great effect thus far.

Against both Wolves and Southampton, the 31-year-old has started behind Patrick Bamford, and in between Jack Harrison and Brenden Aaronson.

Playing in an attacking midfield position, he has been able to progress up the pitch, support the striker and get onto crosses, which is where all his both goals against the Saints have come from.

This is similar to the way he excelled in La Liga during his Valencia days, and Jesse Marsch may have stumbled on a way to get the best out of the club-record signing.

If Rodrigo can continue this hot streak in the number 10 position, and continue to be an offensive threat, chances will keep coming his way and hopefully, a consistent goal-scoring run will follow.

In other Leeds news, the club are trying to sign Ben Brereton Diaz from Blackburn Rovers.
