Leeds United must stop Nottingham Forest swoop for Moses Simon

Victor Orta may have already worked his magic to bring in several new signings at Leeds United but he can’t take his foot off the throttle yet.

A number of the new recruits impressed as Jesse Marsch’s side came from behind to beat Wolves at Elland Road, namely Brenden Aaronson whose constant energy helped carry the Whites over the line.

But the American can’t do it alone and the attention now has to turn to FC Nantes winger Moses Simon who Leeds are keen to bring in if the finances are right, as reported by RMC Sport.

The 53-time Nigerian international is not just on the list at Thorp Arch though as a new suitor from the Premier League are looking to swoop in late and snatch him from under Orta’s nose.

According to Foot Mercato, newly-promoted Nottingham Forest are not done throwing the money around and would like to sign the 27-year-old before the window closes on 1 September.

If he stays at Nantes, Simon would be playing European football thanks to their Coupe de France victory last season but the Premier League may be enough to entice him over.

Leeds cannot allow his English destination to be the City Ground having watched him for some time so they have to act fast because Forest have already shown their willingness to get deals done quickly.

Steve Cooper has quite the squad to choose from already and the rest of the division’s bottom half clubs from last season could do without it getting any stronger.

Luis Sinisterra has already come in out wide but the Colombian is injured and Raphinha’s exit has compounded that so this would seem to be a no-brainer of a move that Orta has to do.

In other Leeds United news, there has been a complete U-turn at Elland Road that should now see this player stay at the club.
