Leeds United must decide future of Crysencio Summerville this summer
Leeds United have already signed three players in the summer transfer window but we are yet to see any players head in the opposite direction.
Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen and Marc Roca all undoubtedly add strength to Jesse Marsch’s squad but he will very soon have too many players to register in the Premier League squad.
Big decisions need to be made at Thorp Arch over the futures of some of the fringe players and especially those who are getting agitated about a lack of playing time.
None more so than that of 20-year-old winger Crysencio Summerville who has been the leading light of the Whites’ Under-23s side over the past couple of years and he is on the brink of the first team at Elland Road.
But unless there are big changes in the way Jesse Marsch sets up his team, there doesn’t appear to be a way in for the Dutchman and teams are becoming interested in signing him.
Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United are the two clubs mentioned in this report from Phil Hay at The Athletic but it would not be a surprise to hear of more clubs sniffing around the goods given his exceptional record for our youth teams.
His situation is one that Marsch needs to come to a conclusion with soon because if not, he will try to force a move away and rightly so given how patient he has been while Joe Gelhardt has gone beyond him and into the first team with ease.
His mood won’t have been helped either by Cody Drameh’s successful loan spell at Cardiff City last season but it is now a case of play him or sell him because he won’t stand for the limbo much longer.
