Leeds United must bring Wilfried Gnonto into the first team for Aston Villa and Crystal Palace

Leeds United started the season in an extremely impressive manner where they managed to secure seven points from the first three matches.

That included a 3-0 win against Chelsea while playing at home where the Whites were just supremely dominant throughout the game.

However, since then, the side have struggled to gather the points that were expected of them and as of now, they have just eight points from the first six matches.

Time for Gnonto

Leeds entered the transfer window hoping to sign many players to bolster the squad for the 2022-23 campaign. It is because of this reason that they ended up bringing in six first-team players.

Despite that, one area where they somewhat failed to strengthen as they would’ve liked to was the attacking department, where there was clearly over-reliance on Patrick Bamford who has struggled with injuries in the recent past.

On deadline day, the Whites managed to sign young striker Wilfried Gnonto from FC Zurich, who Victor Orta told the Telegraph will “surprise” people, but so far he has not been able to make his first appearance for the club.

The Whites are now set to resume their league campaign after a lengthy break and they have some relatively easy fixtures coming up against a struggling Aston Villa side at Elland Road and Crystal Palace while playing away.

It seems like these fixtures present a good opportunity to try someone like Gnonto who is famous for his pace, something both Villa and Palace have struggled to deal with in the recent past.

In other Leeds United news, Tony Dorigo has hailed this Elland Road favourite despite missing out on an international call-up for his country.
