Leeds United have to sign Ross Barkley

Leeds United have been linked with a move for forgotten Chelsea man Ross Barkley, according to 90min.

Now, the 27-year-old has made just one Premier League appearance this season and must be looking to try and reignite his career away from Stamford Bridge.

It looked as if he was going to do that last season after a strong start with Aston Villa, but he faded away, and Villa didn’t take up their option to buy.

In truth, he could be the man that the Whites need to replace Pablo Hernandez.

Since the Spaniard departed, Marcelo Bielsa has been trying to fill that number ten role with either Rodrigo or Tyler Roberts, but that isn’t working for whatever reason.

Therefore, if the Whites can get Barkley in January on loan or on a reduced transfer fee, they would be getting a brilliant player who could split defences.

The former Everton man has been described as “outstanding” by the BBC in the past and has a huge amount of Premier League and international experience.

He could be the man to make a big difference.

That kind of creativity combined with Raphinha and Dan James could propel the Whites up the table.

This is a deal they have to do, and they should be all over this in January trying to make it happen.
