Leeds United handed significant boost ahead of Aston Villa Premier League clash
Leeds United will now be fancying their chances even more against Aston Villa when the two sides meet post the resumption of the Premier League.
The Villans won 1-0 against Southampton on Friday but there was a major injury concern for them when their key midfielder Boubacar Kamara was subbed off at the break.
He appeared to have jarred his knee and many in Claret and Blue feared the worst as it did not look like a good one.
After the game, Steven Gerrard said, via Birmingham Live, “I’m worried about it! It seems like every time we get three points it comes with a cost. We’ll scan him in the next couple of days but, yeah, I’m worried about it.”
This does not sound like someone who is confident of having the midfielder fit before the early October clash against the Whites.
This certainly plays into Leeds’ hands as whatever defensive solidity Gerrard’s side has is provided by the talented Frenchman.
Without him, they look completely out of shape and with this high-energy Leeds midfield, we see the likes of Tyler Adams and Marc Roca running rings around them.
Brenden Aaronson’s constant pressing will be a menace for them and they will be forced to play long a lot – giving Leeds dominance in terms of possession.
Jesse Marsch will be licking his lips at the prospect of playing Villa and three points should be in the bag for Leeds.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have reached an agreement to sign a left-back, according to his agent.
