Leeds United get 'next step' sign to go all in for Noa Lang
Jesse Marsch is wasting absolutely no time in revolutionising his Leeds United squad with three new signings already this transfer window.
Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen and Marc Roca have all helped plug some very exposed gaps in the ranks at Elland Road but there is still more that needs to be sorted before the season begins at home to Wolves.
One area of concern is in attack where the Whites are in need of a player who can be a striker as well as a winger naturally, rather than shoe-horning Dan James or Jack Harrison into the number nine role.
Andrea Radrizzani, Victor Orta and Marsch have already begun to identify targets for this exact role and one player who is high on their list of players is Club Brugge ace Noa Lang, according to The Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath.
The Dutch international was sensational for the Belgian side during 2021/22 with 19 goal contributions to his name, helping Blauw-Zwart to the Pro League title.
But their manager, Carl Hoefkens, may have just admitted that he and talented teammate Charles De Ketelaere could leave the club this summer.
“I hope to keep De Ketelaere here and Noa too,” Hoefkens said, as quoted by Soccer News Netherlands. “But I know there’s a good chance – some more than others – that the next step is coming. We’ll see that in the coming weeks.”
That is exactly the sign Marsch and Orta need to go full steam ahead and try whatever they can to get Lang to come to Elland Road over the similarly interested West Ham United and Italian champions AC Milan.
On paper, we look like the underdogs in this battle but we can offer almost guaranteed starter status for the 22-year-old while he may only be a substitute at best for both the Hammers and the Rossoneri.
