The form of Leeds United winger Helder Costa has certainly been hot and cold as the season has continued.
With the enforced break continuing to keep football away from us, there are doubts over when the transfer market will start and even more over the future of certain players with expiring contracts.
Costa is technically still on loan at Elland Road from Wolves, with the Whites having a £15million obligation to buy the winger once the season is over – a figure that has raised some eyebrows.
The Yorkshire Evening Post has revealed in a report on Friday, with the help of WyScout, the current value of each player in the Whites’ squad.
According to this report, Costa is valued at only £6.9million with his current form obviously lowering the early season figure that Leeds agreed with Wolves.
That is a big difference of £8.1million, with those figures surely proving that Leeds could have agreed to pay a mammoth fee for a player not actually worth that much.
At the time, Leeds fans were very excited at the prospect of Costa on the wing at Elland Road but his performances have failed to reach that same level.
Costa has only scored three times this season, his second-worst goal tally since arriving in England from Monaco back in 2016.
The 26-year-old is known for being a creative spark on the wing, and although he has shown glimpses this season – his 0.9 key passes per game have been matched by both Stuart Dallas and Luke Ayling, two players that Costa should definitely be bettering [WhoScored].
