Leeds United board made right call with Daniel Farke as manager handed Championship accolade
The Leeds United board were faced with several tough decisions over the summer following the club’s disappointing relegation from the Premier League.
One of the most important decisions was undoubtedly who to appoint as manager, following the ultimately failed experiments with Jesse Marsch, Javi Gracia and Sam Allardyce.
Whoever was coming into the dugout at Elland Road next had a massive challenge on their hands, with Daniel Farke then chosen as the man to take the club forward.
And after a stuttering start, the German has Leeds firing on all cylinders, with the Whites moving up to third in the Championship table after their 3-2 win against Norwich City on Saturday (21 October).
On an emotional return to Carrow Road, Farke engineered a dramatic victory for his new team, with winger Crysencio Summerville the star of the show with two goals.
His brace has now earned the attacker a spot in the Championship Team of the Week, where he has been joined by his manager Farke.
The duo were certainly in sync away from home, with the winger delivering the exact results that Farke has been working so hard for since his appointment.
The hard work doesn’t stop here, however, with the Whites set for a very busy few months ahead, beginning with a trip to Stoke City on Wednesday (25 October) and a home clash with Huddersfield Town on Saturday (28 October).
Farke will be keen to keep producing plenty of goals, but the boss will also want to clamp down on the defensive side of things after conceding twice against the Canaries.
