Leeds set to win race for Nketiah

Leeds are set to win the race for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah ahead of Bristol City.

After beating Bristol City at Ashton Gate in the first game of the Championship, it now looks like Leeds are going to successfully hijack their move for the young and promising attacker.

According to PA Sport journalist Nick Mashiter, the deal for Nektiah is almost done and barring a “late U-turn”, the youngster will be the latest Marcelo Bielsa capture.

Mashiter reported the news on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday evening.

What will Leeds be getting? An “out-and-out goal-scorer”.

That’s what Sky Sports pundit Darren Bent has said about Nketiah.

In a column for Football Insider today Bent said, “He’s obviously not as experienced as Roofe and he’s not as good in that quality of knowing the game but I’ll tell you what he is, he’s a goalscorer, an out-and-out goalscorer as well.

“If Leeds supply him with the chances, I think he’ll score goals.”

That will be music to the ears of Leeds fans who saw their side struggle to convert chances last season.
