Leeds fans react to new Amazon documentary

The new Leeds docu-series Take Us Home was released on Amazon overnight and keen fans are already bingeing on it.

It chronicles Marcelo Bielsa’s first season in charge and what a rollercoaster it was.

From the Spygate scandal through to the Daniel James January transfer debacle (episode three), culminating in misery as Leeds missed out on promotion by finishing in third and losing to Frank Lampard’s Derby in the play-offs, Take Us Home has everything but a happy ending for Leeds fans.

We’ve seen the first episode and it’s brilliant – well produced and a must-watch for any football fan, let along the legion of Leeds supporters.

We’re going to take the view that Episode 6 (the end of the current series) is merely the halfway point of a journey back to the Premier League with Bielsa, and we’re going to try and ignore the heartbreaking image of Daniel James holding up a Leeds shirt before his transfer collapsed.

In the meantime, the reaction from Leeds fans has been overwhelmingly positive, although one said she cried so much she burned the skin round her eyes.

One person who comes out of it really well is Victor Orta and, for a man who’s taken a battering in the past from some Leeds fans, we think this is the moment he becomes an Elland Road legend.
